Adding User Authentication Methods (PIN, Badge, or Fingerprint) Follow
To allow employees, supervisors, or administrators to access the time clock and related menus, they will need the proper authentication method set up.
Add or edit a PIN:
- Log into the CloudPunch web portal.
- Click on People in the side menu.
- Select the user's profile icon.
- Click on Authentication under the user's name.
- Click the space next to Identification to edit the page.
- Click ID Type and select PIN from the dropdown menu.
- If there is a current Identification method, click the + icon to add a new ID type or click the ID number to edit the current PIN.
- Enter a unique 4-7 digit ID Number.
- Click Save.
Add or edit a Badge:
- Log into the CloudPunch web portal
- Click on People in the side menu.
- Select the person's profile icon.
- Go to Authentication under their name.
- Click the space next to Identification to edit the page.
- Click ID Type and select Badge from the dropdown menu.
- If there is a current Identification method, click the + icon to add a new ID type or click the ID number to edit the current Badge.
- Add the badge number as the ID Number.
- Click Save.
Add or edit a fingerprint template:
- Authenticate at the time clock as an administrator or supervisor with permissions:
- Tap the screen and enter your personal PIN or the time clock admin passcode.
- Scan your Badge.
- Scan your fingerprint.
- If using your personal authentication method, tap Dashboard.
- Tap User Management.
- Select the profile icon of the user.
- Select the finger or thumbprint to be scanned.
- If no print was previously added, place the user's finger or thumb on the scanner. If there is a previous print, tap Replace then place the finger or thumb on the scanner.
- When the user's print has been successfully scanned, tap Test to test the print.
- Once you receive the 'Test Successful" message the fingerprint template has been successfully assigned.
- Tap Done.
